Justin Timberlake's Attorney Speaks Out on DWI Arrest

Justin Timberlake is ready to face his legal troubles, according to his attorney.
One day after the "Mirrors" singer was arrested and charged with one count of driving while intoxicated, his lawyer Edward Burke Jr. addressed the matter and said that his team will "look forward to vigorously defending Mr. Timberlake against these allegations."
"I will have a lot to say at the appropriate time," he added, "but am currently awaiting full discovery from the District Attorney's office."
Timberlake—who shares sons Silas, 9, and Phineas, 3, with wife Jessica Biel—was taken into custody on June 18 after authorities found him in an "intoxicated condition" during a traffic stop in Long Island, New York, according to the Sag Harbor Police Department.
At the time, police noticed that his eyes were "bloodshot and glassy," with a "strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath," per a criminal complaint obtained by NBC News. Authorities said in the filing that Timberlake "performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests" and allegedly told an officer, "'I had one martini and I followed my friends home.'"
The Grammy winner was arrested after he declined to be tested for impairment, according to police, and was held in custody until his morning arraignment. He was released without bail.
Timberlake is slated to hit the stage again in Chicago June 21 for the next leg of his Forget Tomorrow World Tour, and will continue on to New York and Boston later this month.
Meanwhile, Biel is currently filming The Better Sister in New York. She was seen on the Manhattan set of the Amazon Prime Video series on June 18, hours after Timberlake was seen leaving a police station in Long Island.
Although their family is currently spending time on the East Coast, Biel recently opened up about relocating their family to Montana in 2015 after selling their New York penthouse the previous year.
"You get hammered in the East Coast, you kinda get hammered on the West Coast," the 7th Heaven alum explained on Kelly Ripa's Let's Talk Off Camera podcast last month. "That's why we don't really live there anymore."
The couple does own property across the U.S., including in Los Angeles and Timberlake's native Nashville, but Biel explained why they call Big Sky, Montana their home, especially for their two sons.
"It's just trying to create some normalcy for these kids," she added. "We wanna share our family with our loved ones and friends."
After all, while she and Timberlake have chosen a life in the spotlight, their kids have not. As she noted, "I don't wanna expose them in a way until they have an ability to make that decision for themself."
E! News has reached out to Timberlake's attorney but hasn't heard back.
