Adele Pulls Hilarious Revenge Prank on Tabloids By Creating Her Own Newspaper

Rumor has it that Adele has an incredible sense of humor.
The singer, 36, poked fun at news coverage of herself by creating her own parody tabloid, The Saturn Times. In a Sept. 5 Instagram post, Adele shared five faux newspaper covers that hilariously weighed in on her personal life and viral moments from her concerts in Munich, Germany.
"After years of putting up with the tabloids, I decided to join in on the fun and create my own," the Grammy winner wrote. "When I tell you it was a highlight of my week to write and create these every Sunday after the shows...I think I missed my true calling!"
Adele is coming off of her 10-night German residency, during which she performed for over 730,000 fans in a stadium built just for her and made countless headlines in the process.
The "Rolling in the Deep" singer joked that her tabloid prank was "a friendly piss" on herself "and the real ones."
She added, "Truly, it is so much fun writing absolute nonsense!"
Underneath punny headlines like "IT'S ONE ADELE OF A RIDE!" and "ADELE'S BALANCING ACT!," she skewered a variety of stories, including one about her own love life.
Of her engagement to Rich Paul, she wrote that she sent "fans into a meltdown by seemingly announcing she's engaged for the 100th time this year."
She also joked about the hoopla that was made around her opting to wear sneakers during one rain-soaked show.
"Within moments of being on stage, Adele was drenched but nothing was going to dampen her spirits," she wrote. "She hilariously asked for a pair of trainers. She then proceeded to stomp around the stage in a pair of white New Balance shoes not matching her elegant black Armani Prive dress at all."
The self-deprecating prank followed Adele's shock announcement at her Aug. 31 concert that she'll be taking an indefinite hiatus from music once her final stint of Las Vegas residency shows finishes on Nov. 23.
"After that, I will not see you for an incredibly long time," the performer revealed. "I will hold you dear in my heart for that whole length of my break."
She went on to share that she's looking forward to focusing on her personal life away from music.
"I have spent the last seven years building a new life for myself and I want to live it now," she told the crowd. "I want to live my life that I've been building, and I will miss you terribly."
Adele shares her 11-year-old son, Angelo, with her ex-husband, Simon Konecki, and has expressed her desire to have more children.
"I definitely would like a couple more kids," she told BBC Radio 4 in July 2022. "It would be wonderful. If not, I've got Angelo."
